IN FRONT OF EACH CONSTRUCTION SITE THERE IS A BILLBOARD.
When you walk trough a city you see many construction sites but you never get an overview of all this new perspectives. In this installation I have gathered in the same place many construction billboards to try and recreate an overall view of this new city.
The billboard gives you a hint or an embellished vision of what the future neighborhood is going to look like. Once the construction of the building is over the billboard is torn down.
There are no billboard s that show you the past, or what used to be there before a construction was build. My silkscreens are a collection of images that where once there. Places that people recollect and are attached to.
A city reflects the society that lives in it and the interaction between it s inhabitant. It also bears it’s history.
A construction site is a place where everything is possible and the billboards show you and ideal and utopian world. But my silkscreen billboards try, on the contrary, to show you what used to be there.
We are living a time where travel is easy. Man is on the move changing constantly the landscapes he sees making them look familiar and strange at the same time.

DEVANT CHAQUE CHANTIER IL Y A UN PANNEAU.
Nous n’avons jamais une vision globale d’une ville et de ses métamorphoses.
Mais nous avons des indices. Dans mes installations je réunis des panneaux de chantiers dans un même lieu afin de reconstituer le vision fragmentée dans un seul ensemble.
Ces panneaux sérigraphiés représentent des espaces vus. Ils sont en train de disparaître ou d’être modifiés. Nous n’avons pas de panneaux montrant ce qui existait avant.
Ces récoltes d’images me permettent de rapprocher des lieux éloignés possédant un attachement, un vécu.
L’ approche à ces espaces n’est pas que architecturale ou urbaine, mais aussi Sociale.
Ces paysages sont considérés comme des portraits d’une société des rapports que les Hommes développent avec leur Histoire.
Les panneaux publicitaires aident à visualiser un futur qui est celui de la cité idéale.
Mes panneaux vont au sens inverse et basculent dans un «entre deux», un passé/présent.
Une fois le chantier terminé le panneau disparaît.
