Je construis un petit miniature rotatif o\u00f9 d’un c\u00f4t\u00e9 je place une carte postale du Palast der Republik, achet\u00e9e sachant qu’il allait dispara\u00eetre, et de l’autre, un miroir. L’objet est plac\u00e9 approximativement du m\u00eame point de vue de la photo.<\/p>\n

Film\u00e9 entre 2007 et 2021, nous assistons indirectement \u00e0 travers le miroir de l’installation, au d\u00e9mant\u00e8lement de l’ancien Parlement de l’est, le Palast der Republik et \u00e0 sa disparition progressive. La carte postale devient un vrai souvenir. Le processus se r\u00e9p\u00e8te plusieurs fois sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es. L’artiste remplace la carte postale par une photographie prise \u00e0 la fin avec quelques ruines, le miroir ne pr\u00e9sentant plus que son absence.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 partir de 2013 la reconstruction du Ch\u00e2teau Prussien datant du 18e si\u00e8cle appara\u00eet sur son emplacement d’origine. Le balancement de ce panneau repr\u00e9sente un balancement du temps – d’un pass\u00e9 vers un futur – tout en montrant la construction d’un retour vers le pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The city of Berlin is lined with panels of representative sites for future construction projects. I built a small rotating panel where one side it up a postcard of the Palast der Republik (bought it, knowing it would disappear) and the other side a mirror.
The object is placed approximately in the same point of view of the photo.
Filmed since 2007 until 2021, we see indirectly through the mirror of the installation, dismantling of the former East parliament, the Palast der Republik, and its gradual disappearance.
The postcard becomes a real memory. This process is repeated during several years, I replace the postcard with a photograph taken at the end with some ruins. The mirror present nothing more than its absence. Since 2013, the re-construction of the famous Prussian Schloss from the 18th century started.
The swinging of this panel represents a swing of a time – past to a future – while showing the construction of a return to the past.<\/p>\n
